The record

On 15 June 2026 I asked SecTor who oversees accessibility for the conference, and how ASL–English interpreting and captioning are arranged. I am a Deaf, Sign Language–using cybersecurity professional. I offered nearly four months of lead time and my own assistance coordinating it, since arranging communication access for technical events is work I do professionally.

No acknowledgement has been received. No decision, no accommodation plan, and no named person accountable for the request.

Reported five or more times and left unanswered for two months, a finding in this industry would not be filed as an administrative oversight. It would be treated as a serious failure, and the silence would form part of the finding.

Five knocks in the correct sequence, and no service listening on the other side. Not a refusal. Not an error. A silent drop.

A registration badge admits a person through a door. Without communication access it does not grant admission in any meaningful sense — it places someone physically inside a conversation from which they have been excluded.

Requests

  1. A response.
  2. A named person accountable for the accommodation.
  3. Written confirmation that qualified ASL–English interpreters will be provided.
